Choose a class below, then select a date that works for you. Related learning resources are included with each class when available. All times are Eastern Time.
Start with Install and Setup
New to Affinity? Start with Affinity Install Only on Monday, September 28 at 9:30 AM, followed by Affinity Bulletin Settings at 1:00 PM Eastern. Take these classes before Microsoft Publisher sunsets on October 1. If you miss Monday’s classes, a combined 90-minute Install and Setup session is available on Thursday, October 1.

Affinity Bulletin Settings
Configure Affinity for bulletin work, including settings for the user interface, viewing, documents, importing PDFs, and exporting PDFs. Live help is available during the Zoom session.

Affinity Install and Setup
Missed the earlier installation and settings classes? This 90-minute session covers downloading, installing, signing in, and configuring Affinity for bulletin creation. If you can, attend Monday’s Affinity Install Only and Affinity Bulletin Settings classes to get started sooner.

If you haven’t installed Affinity on your computer, this session is for you. Work through examples of installing Affinity. Email jmetzger@pilotbulletins.net if you would like help installing Affinity during the session.

Affinity Tables and Tabs Workshop
Use tables to organize rows of similar information, such as Mass intentions, calendars of events, and offertory collection figures. Work with tabs in text frames to arrange text and numbers in an easily readable format.

Affinity: Master Page Workshop
Create and set up master pages, work with margins and guidelines, facing pages, headers and footers, and page numbers. Apply master pages and prepare an existing document to use them.

Affinity: Text Workshop
Work with text frames, text formatting, strokes and fills, insets, text wrapping, importing text, multiple columns, and flowing text between frames.

Creating your Bulletin Template
Learn the basics of creating your bulletin in Affinity and setting up a template for future bulletins. Attending the Affinity Install and Affinity Settings sessions before using Affinity for the first time is highly recommended.
