The recommended path
Four steps from uncertain to ready
Work through these in order. You can pause between steps and return whenever you need.
Attend Install and Setup
Before your first use, join a session to install Affinity and apply settings that make it simpler to use.
Follow the installation guideRebuild your foundation
Set up page size, margins, columns, master pages, and the pieces you reuse every week.
Create one real bulletin
Bring in this week’s text and images, check the layout, and export a printer-ready PDF.
Save your weekly starter
Keep a clean Affinity file so next week begins with a dependable, familiar structure.
Save your Publisher files as PDFs before October 1
Before October 1, 2026, save PDF copies of all your Publisher files, including archived bulletins. Microsoft 365 subscribers will lose access to Publisher after that date. Open each PDF to check that every page is present and looks right, then back it up. Keep the original Publisher files and images too, but do not rely on .pub files alone as your archive. PDFs preserve a copy you can view and print; keep a separate Affinity file for ongoing edits.
Ready for the guided version?
We strongly recommend attending Install and Setup Affinity before using Affinity for the first time. We’ll walk through settings that make Affinity much simpler to use. Then join Getting Started with Affinity. Repeat sessions whenever you’d like, or review a recording when it’s available.
